   GLASS MOLD ACCESSORY CASTINGS
High-quality nickel-boron alloy and Bromalloy® castings for the glass mold industry.
Glass Mold Accessory Castings

NEW PRODUCT RELEASE - Bromalloy® Castings

Franklin Bronze & Alloy Company is an established manufacturer of high-quality nickel-boron alloy and Bromalloy glass mold accessory castings. Parts manufactured include guide rings, baffles, plungers, inserts, thimbles, blowheads, and top-plates, and all parts are investment-cast to shape and size from customer drawings. Parts are then finished in-house or shipped to the customer in as-cast condition for machine finishing.

Tooling
All tooling required for glass mold casting is made in-house, allowing quick delivery and substantial customer savings. In addition, Franklin Bronze has immediate access to efficient, competitive air freight service, allowing us to economically deliver our product throughout the world.

Bromalloy Castings
Franklin Bronze now offers all these same castings in Bromalloy.  Bromalloy is a new stainless steel alloy that has been developed specifically to replace the higher cost nickel based alloys.  In addition to significant savings in purchasing the castings, parts made in Bromalloy are actually out performing the nickel based castings when put in service.  Bromalloy castings are 100% corrosion resistant and are readily repairable when worn out.  Bromalloy castings are shipped from Franklin Bronze in the annealled condition at a hardness of 36-40 Rc ready to be machined.  See below for information on this product.

The Advantages of Nickel-Boron
The advantages of nickel-boron alloy castings over traditional machined and hard-faced cast iron parts are significant to both mold manufacturers and glass container factories.

Container Mold Shop Advantages
•  A one-step machining process to finished part allows a much quicker throughput
•  Vent, blow holes, and other details are cast and require no machining
•  All welding operations are eliminated
•  Less chance of defects which cause part rejection at end of process

Other Advantages Realized in Glass Production
•  Improved part life
•  Improved wear resistance on parts' non-glass contact surfaces
•  Improved thermal operating conditions
•  Nickel part can be repaired six to eight times
•  Worn-out or discarded parts can be sold for valuable scrap nickel
